Terroir 2014

May 03, 2014

Join us for

an annual showcase for new County wines presented by the

Prince Edward County Winegrowers

Terroir is a County Wine Celebration!

This is an event that focuses on the soils (and the rocks) of Prince Edward County. You'll meet the experts, the winemakers, the vineyard managers, the grape growers, owners, and chefs of Prince Edward County.

Set in picturesque Picton at the Crystal Palace, a hall-of-windows right out of the Great Gatsby era. This is the one  event where you can sample wines from across the region and pair them with gourmet food samples prepared by local chefs and surrounding colleges. Seminars will be on-going throughout the day from various food and wine personalities (and we mean PERSONALITIES).

As Prince Edward County boasts some exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable wine gurus, Terroir 2014 will be a place to bring your questions.

And why not make a weekend of it? Watch our Ticket and Information website (link below) for full information about accommodations, entertainments, restaurants, and sights to see.

We're looking forward to meeting you and sharing the wines, the foods, and the charms of beautiful Prince Edward County. When you cross the bridge, or take the ferry into this wine region, you'll leave the rest of the world behind and enter.... THE COUNTY.

The Great Canadian Cheese Festival

June 07, 2014 to June 08, 2014

It's the biggest show in Canada!

The Great Canadian Cheese Festival is a multi-faceted event that annually attracts thousands of consumers to meet, learn, taste and buy the best in Canadian artisan cheese and fine foods and sample fine wine, craft beer and crisp cider.

Dairy Farmers of Canada is the lead sponsor, presenting seminars throughout the day in the All You Need is Cheese annex.

The Artisan Cheese & Fine Food Fair on Saturday and Sunday features special presentations hourly and a Dairy Farm display for the enjoyment of young and old.  Also on the program are Tutored Tastings where experts offer guidance on a variety of cheese topics, Cheese Tours of nearby creameries and Artisan Cheese Cooking Classes.

The Festival offers wine and dine experiences on a cheese theme at local wineries featuring name chefs, such as Jamie Kennedy, on Saturday evening.

Last year, close to 100 exhibitors and vendors and more than 3,000 consumers made the event the biggest cheese show in Canada representing producers from coast to coast.  Those numbers are sure to grow this year.

Admission price at the door is $45 for adults.  Reduced pricing for advance ticket purchases online.  Special pricing for groups, seniors and children.  Children under 18 admitted free when accompanied by an adult on Family Day, Sunday, June 8.

The fourth annual Great Canadian Cheese Festival takes place June 7-8, 2014 at historic Crystal Palace on the Picton Fairgrounds in the heart of Ontario's Prince Edward County, one of Canada's leading gastronomic destinations.  Cheese Tours and Artisan Cheese Cooking Classes are offered on June 6th.

Prince Edward County Music Festival

September 19, 2014 to September 28, 2014

The Prince Edward County Music Festival provides a unique and exciting artistic experience by featuring the works of a living composer along with works from other eras and genres. Beauty is one of the great aspirations of art, and an essential goal of our Juno award winning composer-in-residence, Marjan Mozetich, whose blend of the traditional, popular and modern will highlight our Festival's theme.

Come and be swept away by the revelations that the quest for beauty has inspired in composers of all times in a selection of works performed by the string quartets, and other musicians.
