Terroir 2016

May 14, 2016

Join us for

an annual showcase for new County wines presented by the

Prince Edward County Winegrowers

Terroir is a County Wine Celebration!

This is an event that focuses on the soils (and the rocks) of Prince Edward County. You'll meet the experts, the winemakers, the vineyard managers, the grape growers, owners, and chefs of Prince Edward County.

Set in picturesque Picton at the Crystal Palace, a hall-of-windows right out of the Great Gatsby era. This is the one  event where you can sample wines from across the region and pair them with gourmet food samples prepared by local chefs and surrounding colleges. Seminars will be on-going throughout the day from various food and wine personalities.  Plus Afterparty + BBQ at The Hayloft Dancehall.

As Prince Edward County boasts some exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable wine gurus, Terroir 2016 will be a place to bring your questions.

And why not make a weekend of it?  Watch our Ticket and Information website for full information about accommodations, entertainments, restaurants, and sights to see.

We're looking forward to meeting you and sharing the wines, the foods, and the charms of beautiful Prince Edward County. When you cross the bridge, or take the ferry into this wine region, you'll leave the rest of the world behind and enter.... THE COUNTY.

Show hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. With more than 500 foods and beverages to taste and buy, one day will not be enough, so make a weekend of it!

Value-added admission features:

  • Express access to more than 130 exhibitors and vendors
  • Get to know outstanding Canadian cheesemakers face-to-face
  • More than 500 foods and beverages for sampling and purchase
  • Tokens no longer needed. Exhibitors and vendors generally offer samples for free, or occasionally request a nominal fee.

Wassail In The County

November 19, 2016 to December 04, 2016

Join Prince Edward County’s winemakers for mulled wines, comfort foods and festive good cheer

 Dates: Nov 19 & 20, Nov 26 & 27, Dec 3 & 4, 2016

Ontario’s most unique wine celebration, Wassail pays tribute to the age old tradition of celebrating the harvest before the arrival of winter. Merrymakers would travel from house to house singing, feasting and, of course, quenching their thirst with local grog.

In Prince Edward County, after harvest we rush to bury the vines to withstand the cold winter. Once the job is done, it’s time to party and everyone is invited!

During the last two weekends in November and the first weekend of December, this modern version of Wassail is a fun time to visit wineries and join in the festivities. Arrive singing a seasonal tune and be treated to free tastes of mulled wine, plus comfort foods and sweet treats! Cross wine-lovers off your list with gifts of wine or wine-related items, or shop for unique, local and handmade crafts and other gifts.

Check back later for details about participating wineries, bus tours, songbook & passport.
